Genuine Sync License Terms

Last updated: October 20, 2026 (version 4.1). Licenses bought earlier keep the terms and price they were bought under.

These License Terms apply to every music license bought on Genuine Sync. Part A applies to all licenses. Part B sets out what each license type includes. Your purchase is also covered by our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

Each purchase comes with a license certificate (PDF) naming the track, license type, project, territory, start date and term. If the certificate and these terms ever differ, the certificate controls for that purchase.

Part A: Terms for every license

A1. Parties

Licensor: GenuineMusic Productions ("Genuine Music", "we", "us"), 210 N Wells St, Unit 3908, Chicago, IL 60606, john@genuinemusic.tv.
Licensee: the person or company named at checkout and on the license certificate ("you").

A2. The music

Every track is an original Genuine Music composition and production. Some tracks include loops from commercial sample libraries, or Band-in-a-Box RealTracks performances, that Genuine Music has licensed for this use. No track is AI-generated.

A3. What you get

Genuine Music grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable synchronization and master use license to use the licensed track in one production: the project named on your certificate. You may use it in the media, territory and term of the license you bought, including edits and cutdowns of that one project (different lengths and aspect ratios of the same piece).

You may use the track only in sync with picture or as part of that production, never on its own.

Non-exclusive means Genuine Music may license the same track to others.
Non-transferable means you can't pass the license to anyone else.
Client work is included. If you make the project for a client, the license covers delivering that project to the client named in the "Project / client" field at checkout.

A4. Term: 1 year

Every paid license lasts 1 year (12 months) from the start date on your certificate. This applies to Web & Social, Online, Online + Stems, Broadcast, and any Custom edit or Stems add-on bought with them. Licenses do not renew automatically and you are never charged again without making a new purchase.

During the year you may use the track in your project in every medium your license allows.

When the year ends:

Paid and broadcast use must stop. You may not keep running paid ads (paid social, boosted posts, pre-roll, connected TV), TV or radio spots, cinema, streaming or out-of-home placements using the track, and you may not start new ones.
To keep using the track, renew. Buy a new license for the same track and project at the current price. The new license runs 12 months from its own start date. We may email you a reminder, but renewing on time is your responsibility.
Organic posts may stay up. Non-paid posts that you published during the year (for example a video on your own website, YouTube channel or social feed that you didn't pay to boost or advertise) may stay online after the year ends, permanently. After the year you may not boost, re-edit or re-post them, or upload them again elsewhere, without a new license.

New placements, new projects, paid media and re-broadcasts after the year always need a new license.

A5. Territory

Worldwide for online use. Broadcast media are licensed for one country (see B3).

A6. One project per license

Each license covers one project. A second video, campaign, episode or production needs its own license. The Creator subscription works differently (see B5).

A7. Stems

Stems are the separate instrument parts of a track (for example drums, bass and keys). They are available only on tracks marked as having stems.

You may use stems only to mix and edit the licensed track inside the licensed project (for example to lower a part under dialogue, rebalance, or shorten it), within the license year (and in organic posts as described in A4).
You may not release, share or sell stems on their own, use them in another project, build sample packs, loops or remixes from them, or use them to make a new piece of music.
Some stems contain licensed library loops or RealTracks performances. These must never be used, shared or sampled on their own.
Stems are delivered as one zip file.

A8. What is not allowed

For every license:

No standalone use. You may not use the track as audio on its own: on streaming services, albums or playlists, as a ringtone, as background music in a venue or store, or in an app or game outside a licensed picture project.
No resale or redistribution. You may not resell, share, redistribute or sublicense the music, stems or files, including inside templates, stock footage or "music included" products.
No sample packs. You may not reuse loops, stems or any part of a track as a sample.
No AI use. You may not use the music, stems or clips to train, fine-tune or prompt any AI or machine-learning system.
No Content ID registration. You may not register the music, alone or as part of your production, with YouTube Content ID, Meta Rights Manager or any similar fingerprinting system.
No ownership or royalty claims. You may not register the music, or a production built around it, with a performing rights organization (PRO), collecting society, distributor or publisher as if you wrote or own it, and you may not claim any writer or publisher share.
No endorsement. You may not suggest that Genuine Music or its artists endorse you, your brand or your product.
Any use outside your license's media, territory, term or project needs a new or upgraded license.

A9. Ownership and performance royalties

Genuine Music (with its writers and artists) keeps all rights in the music. You receive a license, not ownership.

Genuine Music keeps all writer and publisher performance royalties. For broadcast uses, you or the broadcaster file cue sheets naming the track and Genuine Music, and performance royalties are paid through the broadcasters' PRO licenses. We supply cue sheet details on request.

A10. Platform claims

If YouTube or another platform places a claim on a video that uses a properly licensed track, email john@genuinemusic.tv with the video link and your license ID, and we will help clear it.

A11. Credit

Credit is appreciated but not required. If you'd like to credit the music, use: Music: "Track title" by Genuine Music (genuinemusicworld.com).

A12. Refunds and chargebacks

If the payment for a license is refunded or disputed (a chargeback), that license is void, its download links stop working, and you may not use the music. See the Refund Policy for when refunds are given.

A13. Ending the license for breach

If you break these terms and don't fix the problem within 14 days of our email telling you about it, we may end your license. A breach that can't be fixed, such as reselling or sharing the files, ends the license immediately. When a license ends for breach, you must stop all use of the track and remove the project from any place you control where it uses the track.

A14. Our promise

Genuine Music promises that it has the right to grant this license and that the music, used as these terms allow, does not infringe anyone's copyright. Apart from that promise, the music and files are provided "as is". We don't promise that a track will suit your project.

A15. Indemnity

Genuine Music will defend you against third-party claims that the music, used within your license, infringes their copyright, and will cover the resulting costs up to the license fee you paid.
You will cover Genuine Music against claims caused by using the music outside these terms, or by any other part of your production (picture, script, other music, trademarks).
To rely on this section, you must tell us about a claim promptly and let us handle it.

A16. Limitation of liability

Genuine Music's total liability arising out of or relating to a license is limited to the license fee you actually paid for that license. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or lost-profit damages. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

A17. Governing law

These terms and each license are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts in Cook County, Illinois have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here removes consumer rights that can't be waived where you live.

Part B: License types

B0. Web & Social: $149 (organic only, no paid ads)


Media	Organic (unpaid) posts on websites, social media, online video platforms (for example YouTube and Vimeo) and podcasts.
Paid promotion	Not allowed. You may not pay anyone to place, boost, promote or target a post or video that uses the track. This rules out paid social, boosted or promoted posts, pre-roll, connected TV and every other paid online ad, including ads run from another person's account (whitelisting or "dark posts"). Branded or sponsored content is fine if it is only posted organically.
Client work	Included.
Territory	Worldwide (online).
Term	1 year. Organic posts published during the year may stay up after the year ends (see A4).
Projects	One project, with all cutdowns and aspect ratios of one edit.
Files	WAV master.
Stems	Not included. You can add them later with the Stems add-on ($149, see B2).
Not covered	Paid or boosted online ads of any kind, TV, radio, cinema, streaming-service programming, out-of-home, live events and public screenings, and anything listed in A8.
Upgrading	To run the project as a paid ad, or on TV, radio, cinema or out-of-home, upgrade to Online or Broadcast for the same track and project before any paid use starts. You pay the difference in price (see the Refund Policy).

B1. Online: $299


Media	Websites, social media and podcasts, plus paid online advertising (paid social, boosted posts, pre-roll, connected TV and other online video ads).
Client work	Included.
Territory	Worldwide (online).
Term	1 year. After that, paid use must stop unless you renew; organic posts published during the year may stay up (see A4).
Projects	One project, with all cutdowns and aspect ratios of one edit.
Files	WAV master.
Stems	Not included.
Not covered	TV, radio, cinema, streaming-service programming, out-of-home, and anything listed in A8.

B2. Online + Stems: $399

Everything in Online, plus the track's stems (on tracks that have stems), used as A7 allows. Same project, media, territory and 1-year term as Online.

Stems add-on: $149. If you already have a Web & Social or Online license for a track that has stems, you can add its stems for $149. The add-on covers the same track, project, media and territory as that license, ends on the same date and is used as A7 allows. It doesn't add media or extend the term. Online + Stems and Broadcast already include stems.

B3. Broadcast: $999 (stems included)


Media	Everything in Online, plus TV (broadcast, cable, satellite and streaming), radio, cinema and out-of-home, including paid spots in those media.
Territory	Broadcast media: one country, named at checkout and shown on your certificate. Online: worldwide. Additional countries need an additional license or a custom quote.
Term	1 year. After that, broadcasts, re-broadcasts and paid placements must stop unless you renew (see A4).
Projects	One project, unlimited cutdowns.
Files	WAV master, broadcast-ready audio (-24 LKFS US / -23 LUFS EBU), and stems where available, at no extra charge.
Cue sheets	You or the broadcaster file cue sheets (see A9).

B4. Custom edit: $750 (stems included)

A Custom edit is added to an Online or Broadcast license.

What it is: we edit the licensed track to fit your project, for example a new length (:15, :30, :60), new start and end points, a button ending, or changes to hit picture cues, using existing parts of the track.
What it isn't: new composition, new recordings or a different track. Those are quoted separately.
Delivery: within 5 business days after we receive your picture and notes, with up to 2 rounds of changes. Faster delivery is available by quote.
Rights and term: the edit is licensed on the same terms as the license it was added to, and its term ends on the same date as that license. Genuine Music owns the edit.
Includes: stems of the edit, where the track has stems.

B5. Creator subscription: $9.99 a month or $79 a year (no stems)

The Creator license is tied to your subscription rather than a 1-year term.

What you get: while you are subscribed, you may download short clips (5 to 10 seconds each) of tracks in the catalog, up to a daily limit. Each clip has its own license ID.
Where you can use clips: in short-form social videos (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and similar) of about 60 seconds or less, on channels you own or personally run. One clip per video. Earning money through the platform's own creator programs is allowed.
How many videos: unlimited, on your own channels, while you are subscribed and within the daily clip limit.
Needs a paid Web & Social, Online or Broadcast license instead (Web & Social covers organic posts only): paid ads or boosted posts; sponsored, paid-partnership, affiliate or "#ad" content; client work or videos for a business other than your own channel; TV, radio, cinema, streaming-service, podcast-ad or out-of-home use; long-form videos; apps, games, NFTs or products.
Never allowed: full tracks, masters or stems; uploading clips as audio on their own; combining clips to rebuild a track; sample packs; Content ID registration; AI training or prompting; suggesting endorsement.
After you cancel: videos you published while subscribed stay licensed permanently for the uses above. You may not publish new videos with clips after your subscription ends, and clips you downloaded but didn't publish before then must not be used.
Personal license: non-exclusive and non-transferable. No account sharing and no automated or bulk downloading. A breach ends the license for the affected videos.

B6. Campaign: from $3,500 a year (by quote)

Who it's for: brands and agencies running a campaign: several spots or projects, several countries, longer terms, exclusivity options, or custom edits.
How it works: priced by quote, from $3,500 a year. It isn't sold through checkout. Email john@genuinemusic.tv with the track, brand, markets, media, number of spots, run dates and any exclusivity you need.
Agreement: each Campaign license is set out in a separate written agreement with GenuineMusic Productions. Where that agreement differs from these terms, the agreement controls.
